Matrix Executive Coaching guides each client though a process that uses the following steps:
1. Take a hard look at yourself
This step begins with an examination of your personal values, core motivating factors, communication and work style, and your comfort with change. This is accomplished through a DiSC assessment, an extensive personal inventory and a battery of assessments customized for your needs and goals.
2. Examine your work environment
How are you perceived by your organization? How do they perceive your leadership? What are the culture and expectations of your work environment? This is accomplished by acquiring 360 feedback from bosses, colleagues and direct reports in a variety of fashions.
3. Define success
Specifically, what changes in behavior would help you be a better leader? We will ask you and those around you what would help your leadership be more effective. If and when the time has come for a job or career change, we can help you plot your course.
4. Create a roadmap
We will determine the roadblocks, traffic jams, and superhighways that are on your trip to success. You will have specific mile markers against which you can measure your progress on your journey. You will develop a specific action plan with metrics for success and accountability partners.
5. Learn new skills and behaviors
We will work with you to acquire and practice new leadership skills that will improve your ability to communicate with versatility, listen deeply, set clear expectations, deal with conflict, hold yourself and others accountable, problem solve, deal with non–productive behavior, and create enthusiasm and vision for you and for your direct reports.
6. Sustain the changes
We will insure that the positive changes become new habits and that the successes are maintained. This is accomplished via a measurable, observable, actionable process of goal setting. You will have accountability partners besides your coach, who will check in with you, encourage you and prod you to make sure that you continue to develop your newly acquired skills.
